Maintaining the momentum from those Games, he feels, is key.

Referring to Sidney Crosby’s overtime winner in the gold-medal hockey game, he said, “I think 33 million Canadians

touched that puck into the net.”

“That’s what (Own the Podium) is trying to do, to give every Canadian a feeling that this is their program, that

this is their team, so people will invest in it and support it along the way,” he added.

“There’s never been a time like this one, when we have the entire country together.”

Canada finished third in total medals in Vancouver, but captured a Winter Olympics record 14 gold.

On the summer side, Canada surpassed its goal of a top-16 placing two years ago in Beijing, finishing tied for 13th

with 18 medals as one of just six countries that improved its Olympic medal haul.

Alexandre Despatie of Laval, Que., has captured two Olympic silver medals in three Olympic appearances and has his

sights set on gold in London. The 25-year-old is grateful for what Vancouver did for all Canadian athletes.

Warcraft turns 15 years old! Steve Butts interviews Blizzard about the past, present and future of the franchise.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Warcraft, we recently chatted with two of the people at Blizzard who are closest to the franchise. Shane Dabiri, currently lead producer on the company’s unannounced MMO, has credits that reach all the way back to the first game in the Warcraft series.
